DIRECTV, Inc., the USA's leading satellite television service provider, has selected Neural Technologies to assist it in reducing its risk to fraud.
DIRECTV is the first direct broadcast satellite company to implement a fraud solution within North America. After reviewing proposals from several companies with fraud management expertise, DIRECTV focused on a solution that would provide flexibility, easy to use case management, core analytics intelligence, along with a local presence for product delivery and consultancy support.
DIRECTV selected Neural Technologies (Nt) after it participated in a pilot study that demonstrated solid preliminary indications of successful fraud detection.
"Since we've thwarted signal thieves with air-tight access cards, we've seen more instances of fraud and we're taking active steps to address these illegal activities," said James Whalen, vice president, Office of Signal Integrity, DIRECTV, Inc. "Based on the positive feedback we've received from Nt's clients and its solid performance in the pilot study, we believe we have the best solution to dramatically reduce acts of fraud against DIRECTV."
Head of Nt's US operation and Vice President, Ian Gebbett, said "It's been a pleasure working with DIRECTV from the beginning. They knew exactly what they wanted to achieve and our teams have worked together to ensure that the solution meets their precise requirements. Fraud is a moving target, and due to its inherent flexibility the solution can be customized to ensure it meets DIRECTV's fraud management objectives going forward".
