Whilst telecoms operators have no liability for PABX fraud, many operators are realising that alerting their corporate customers to fraud helps to avoid potential disputes and forge good customer relations.
Most PABX installations have dial-in access used for maintenance purposes by engineers and this is what fraudsters look for to gain access. Once a list of possible numbers is established (data ports, such as faxes and modems) the attackers use code-breaking scripts to bypass any password control. Less sophisticated attacks are carried out through voicemail systems, where the attacker looks to gain access to outside line.
Minotaur Fraud Management Solution comprises a range of features to detect PABX fraud quickly and effectively, on both traditional and IP based systems.
Neural Technologies offers PABX fraud management within its Minotaur fraud solution or as a low cost stand-alone module available via the cloud.
